The parsonage on Brookside Avenue had a great basement. The basement was basically handed over to us kids to be used as a playroom. The floor was a smooth painted cement and we could ride our tricycles and scooters around the room any time of the year. That came in handy during winter, of course. We had a playhouse set up for tea parties and we actually ate lunch in the playroom quite often. What a great place to play! Good times.
