Auntie, Uncle Ed and me

My goodness!!  What was I laughing at?  It's 1948 and I'm sitting with Auntie and Uncle Ed in the living room of the Brookside Avenue parsonage.  Notice how the couch is baby proofed with a blanket and towels.  And that sure is a lovely hand crochet doily placed neatly on the back of the couch.  Doilies were still very much in style as home decor at that time.  It looks like there is a Christmas tree set up in the corner right next to the couch.  It must be December and that would make me about eleven months old.  Look how sweetly Auntie is smiling.  I believe Uncle Ed always wore a three piece suit for dress up occasions.  I always remember him wearing a vest and tie.  Auntie and Uncle Ed cared for my mom when she was growing up and Mom was thoughtful and cared for them as they got older.  I cherish pictures like this.  This is my family.
