This picture was taken in 2004 on the train from Oslo to Bergen, Norway. My sister and I were about to begin an adventure that would take us by ship from Bergen to the northern port city of Kirkenes--within viewing range of Russia. Here I am just staring at the beautiful scenery passing by and thinking how amazing it is just to be in the homeland of my ancestors. How exhilarating!! And how did I know that fourteen years later I would be rockin' the exact same easy, no-fuss, go to, blah hairstyle? The thought of it completely knocks the air out of my happy bubble. I think I need to do something about this. I think I'll think about it. But, look at that happy face(s).
