Christmas sweaters

The temperature outside today was 113 degrees.  I am in the high desert region of southern California and it is supposed to be hot during the summer but even these temperatures are considered excessive. So, I thought I would bring out this picture taken in December of 2012 as we celebrate the season with Christmas sweaters.  Cool, huh.  hahaha  Cool...get it. ha ha  Oh well.

wedding day

Today would have been Mom and Dad's seventy sixth wedding anniversary.  They were married on July 5, 1942 in Epworth Methodist Church in Minneapolis.  They ultimately celebrated fifty one years of marriage.  They kept their vows.  That is commitment.  Thank you for being my parents.

overlooking Bergen

Here we are, high above Bergen.  The year is 2010 and I'm visiting Norway with my traveling companion (and favorite sister) Susan.   hmmm...are my glasses tilted or is my head on crooked?

the five of us

I am always amazed  at how the photographer was able to get one good picture of my siblings and I.  Here we are, all looking in the same direction (for the most part) at the same time.  I've seen the proofs of the other pictures and they are pretty funny.  Our facial expressions and silly poses are all over the place.  I believe this picture was taken in 1952.

family dinner

Looks like Thanksgiving dinner at the Brookside parsonage in about 1955.  Auntie and Uncle Ed are joining us for dinner.  027

tide pools

San Diego.  2013.  Walking along the rocky cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean on my way to the tide pools.  I really like my nature hikes.

the shortest one

That's me in the middle.  I'm standing between my two sons.  That's right.  I'm standing.  On level ground.  Not in a hole.  I'm not short.  They're just tall.  And, very good looking.
