posing for pictures

Here we go again.  This is another pose from a group photo session with us kids.  It looks like I'm getting a little ant-sy there with my hands on my hips.  Let's get this thing over with.  And, my hunched shoulders are wrecking my pretty hair style.  Mom worked hard to get us ready for this.  Susan looks distracted, Keith looks like he's about to pick a fight and Duane looks spot on with a nice smile.  Steven looks like a wise soul.  He looks older than his age.  What a group of goofies we are.

Another then and now moment.  1974 and forty four years later.  Sweet baby.  Nice guy.

dinner with Auntie and Uncle Ed

This picture was taken in 1954.  It looks like we are having a special dinner at the parsonage on Brookside Avenue.  Auntie and Uncle Ed are having dinner with us.  Since they didn't drive or own a car, my dad would drive into south Minneapolis and pick them up and bring them to our house out in the suburbs.  Later that evening he would drive them back home again.  Mom was probably cleaning up the kitchen during that time.  Heaven only knows what us kids were up to.  Good times.

Mom and Dad

Here are my parents, Mom and Dad (whoops, I mean Helen and Bennett) just relaxing at the Alabama Avenue parsonage.  These people made me.  Thank you.

my three brothers

I posted a similar picture of my brothers some time ago.  Here is the other version.  This picture was taken in the 1960's while we lived at the parsonage on Alabama Avenue.  It looks like it is late winter/early spring.  Three amazing guys.  Each one is different.  All are special.

poinsettias in the chancel

I am out of town for a few days and am completely exhausted from all of the trip preparations so I am posting this picture of a beautiful arrangement of poinsettia plants that were placed in the sanctuary of Aldersgate Church one December years ago.  Enjoy the lovely red flowers.

another look

This picture is almost identical to another photo I posted a few days ago.  This time my dad is holding me and my mom is taking the picture.  My brothers are in the photo along with Auntie and Uncle Ed Ehri.  This picture was taken in the Spring of 1948.  Twice is nice.
